TweetDeck over to twitter:
Tweet deck one of the famous browsers which made its way into hearts of many people recently was took over by twitter. It gained popularity for its usage in iPhone, iPad, Android, Chrome etc where it helps in connecting a user to social networking sites like twitter, facebook, Myspace etc and they can know the latest trends happening around and can tweet like a pro. This famous company was being founded by Lain Dodsworth. Reports flung in few famous websites that this company was sold to Uber Media a company which is also twitter based app company. Some bidding was also reported by few sites but at last twitter aquired it for 40 million dollars.
Delicious over to Youtube founders:
Delicious a top social bookmarking site was founded by Joshua Schachter. This was being sold to yahoo in 2005 and was with yahoo more recently till they revealed their plan of its disposal. So Youtube founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen acquired delicious. They have also officially mailed its users that they are the new owners of delicious.
Skype over to Microsoft:
News about Skype’s bidding was running for about one week among world’s top two famous websites Google and Facebook. The talks were running around 7 billion deal but suddenly the news sprang that Skype was sold to Microsoft for 8.5 Billion dollars. Nobody would have ever thought even Skype would also make it into news some day.
iCloud over to Apple:
iCloud is a cloud based music service. Apple is famous for iPhone may be it seemed similar to iCloud so apple wanted to get that domain name for there future music needs. So they just acquired the iCloud domain for 4.5 billions. iCloud is now renamed to cloudme. What a deal for Xcerion but the domain is redirecting so they may take some time to completely transfer it to apple.
Lycos over to Ybrant Digital:
Lycos belonged to a Korean-based search company called Daum Communications before it was sold to them for 96 millions by Terra Networks in 1994. Before this deal terra networks acquired Lycos for 12.5 millions. This company had sold Lycos to Indian company called Ybrant Digital for 36 million dollars. Lycos usually averages nearly 14 million visitors from U.S every month.
