There are many ways by which people make money through blogging. In this post I mentioned only the ones which is widely adapted by many bloggers.
1. PPC Advertisements: PPC stands for pay per click, when some one clicks on the ad you get money. There are many sites which offer a third party advertisement through your blog. Means we don’t need to bring advertisers to our blog so we give off that duty to a site which handles the advertisers. Our duty is only to publish the advertisement in our site. These sites act as a mediator between an advertiser and a publisher. Some of the sites which support this service are AdSense, adbrite, infolinks, chitaka ads, adonion, smowtion, nuffads, bidvertiser, etc. There are many sites which offer these services. So we just need to register with these sites get approved as a publisher. Then we can select the ad size depending on our requirements and paste the HTML code given by them in our blog that’s it. Whenever some one clicks on the ad in your blog you get paid.

2. Affiliate Marketing: This is a new term for people who doesn’t blog at all. Its all about blogging about a product and making its sales through your blog. If you are having a blog about web designing then you can recommend a site which helps in providing webspace. So visitors who read the article and click on the affiliate link provided by you and if he buys the product then you get some commission. You simply cant recommend a link. You have to first make a affiliate link with the company before recommending them. Needs some knowledge before becoming a affiliate marketer.
3. Selling Products: You can also sell some of your products and earn money, for example if you have an ebook which is solely written by you, simply sell them from your blog. If your product is a successful seller then that’s it you are already engaged in making money for your work.
4. Writing Guest articles: This is one of the most widely used method by many bloggers. For you to earn in the above said methods need to have lot of traffic and well established respect for your site, which requires lot of time. So you can write guest articles in sites which already have lot of exposure and they give you a space to publish an ad under your post so who ever lands on the page which has an article written by you and clicks an ad gets money into your account. And some blogs even pay few bucks without need for advertising account. There are many advantages being a guest writer which I will tell in upcoming posts.
5. Sponsor Links: This is like selling advertising space directly. Advertisers buy a space from you directly paying some money for every month. You just have to place the ad provided by them in your blog. This is a deal directly between advertiser and you.

Applying these methods you will not become rich instantly. This post is only a guide to give an idea on how people earn through blogging. Still there are many methods used by bloggers to earn money. I wrote only few widely applied ones. Will write more clearly in later days.
