What is meant by a DIGI School?

If you have read my past article about on what do most people of India spend their money on you could find people do spend some of it on education. Surprisingly rise of many new schools had taken root without any limits. Some new teaching methods and concepts were introduced. Main reason behind launching many new schools is only due to rise in the population. If you observe in the past their were schools like public school or government school or high school attached to the school name but now there are variety of names like concept school, techno school, e-techno school, global school, international school and a new term which was recently introduced is DIGI school.

Reason behind evolution of such names for schools:

Present day society is not a society where Father works and mother stays at home and educates her child. But both the parents are off to work and they find less time to spend with their children. So they think placing their child in a costlier school solves their problem rather than sitting with them in the evenings making them do homework's or study. So a search for good school begins. Person who is involved in schooling business usually called a correspondent always looks in getting more number of children to his school and to sustain the competition with the remaining schools he need to introduce some innovative techniques of teaching so they just implement a new technology in their school and rename them as Techno School or concept school or a DIGI school. And that technology is nothing but teaching children using a projector or a LCD rather than black board.

What are the features of a DIGI school?

Digi School in full is called a digital school. All the class rooms are equipped with a Projector and a screen and giving the class room a new name called digital class room. All the lessons are taught using animations, simulations or slide shows over the screen.

Benefits of implementing such methods:

Students can learn the subject in a quicker way as visualizing always has a greater advantage over listening. Nursery and pre-schooling children can learn alphabets and rhymes in a play way method. Some hard topics can be dealt in an easy manner.

Tips for parents over selecting a proper school:

• As the schools are equipping new technologies our children may or may not cope up with the advancement some times we need to recognize the ability of our children. Because seeing itself is not the criteria but reproducing them on the paper is a must.
• Parents while opting a school should blindly not believe the fake promises or features posted in the pamphlets.
• They should check for all the features listed in the curriculum provided by the school management.
• Parents should take special interest in checking the school computers because some times for publicity sake management just keep some scarp systems.
• While opting a semi residential school we must always check whether the food provided by the school is hygienic or not.
• Check whether the school has proper learning material, labs, library and proper bathrooms facility.
• Don't run by just seeing the name of the school but have a proper knowledge of the institution before you join your child in any of the new school. (Schools are even making some unqualified teachers work for sake of running the school in low cost.) So look if the teachers are well qualified.

My advise for the parents is to take interest on your child after the school hours. Always check them whether they are learning their lessons properly. Never forget exercise them in all aspects of education like helping them in memorizing, building up a beautiful handwriting and developing speaking and reading skills. Present society needs to have a command over English to survive in any MNC or any private companies. So pleae dont run after money and neglect your child for parents are the first teachers in shaping the future of their children.
