At first, it was decided that it will be a single movie. Later on, the team decided to make Pushpa part 2. The Pushpa 2 movie will continue from the story of the first part only. According to the reports, a few scenes of Puspa: The Rule was already filmed by the director. However, later on, Sukumar announced that he will be shooting the entire film again. The decision was made because of some changes in the initial script.
Principal photography of Pushpa: The Rule has been scheduled for February 2022 and the shooting of the film started in April 2022. The main actress of the film, Mandanna also confirmed in January 2022 that she will join the production team in March 2022.
