These days you need to upload your photo and signature whenever you are applying for any job online. These sites do specify that your photo size should not exceed more than 50kb but it does sometimes cross that mark and becomes very problematic for applying. You can adjust your scanner resolution dpi settings to lower but it diminishes the quality of your photo. So I just give a simple suggestion of how to make your photo file size small without loosing much of its quality.

You need to have photoshop installed at your local machine. If you already have photoshop installed just open it and open a new file and adjust the height and width settings as 4.5 cm and 3.5 cm. Drag your scanned photo into photoshop and adjust it into the space provided. You can do it by clicking CTRL+ T and adjust the photo to exactly fit into the opened box. Once you are finished save it in Jpeg format with maximum quality settings. If you are unaware of this try to take help of one who knows photoshop. Do the same for your signature and prepare a image with both photo and signature as mentioned in the notification.

Once you are done with your photo, signature and a photo+signature images just see their file size if it is above 50 Kb don't worry. Just open smushit.com or google it you will get a site opened which is run by yahoo. Upload your images into that site and smush your images. It will reduce the file size of your image without loosing its quality. Just save them and upload them into your mail and keep it save. So next time you don't need to do the same always it would be helpful whenever you apply online.

Note: See that you have your photo, signature and a photo+signature images for some online procedures ask photo and signature separately and some ask them in combination. So better to have three images stored in your mail.
